Buying or selling a used car
Used Car Sale Agreement
Sale of a used car between two private individuals, with condition disclosures, same-day payment and transfer, and a handover record.
About this agreement
Organize the details for a private used-car sale in Israel. Prepare the seller’s and buyer’s details, identify the vehicle, and record the agreed price and handover arrangements before filling in the guided form.
Check the scope before you start
Read these scope conditions before starting. The guided form asks you to confirm each statement.
The Seller is a private natural person and is not acting as a dealer or company
The Buyer is a private natural person and is not acting as a dealer or company
The Seller is the registered owner of the Vehicle and is authorized to sell it
This is an ordinary private sale with no dealer, company, estate, co-ownership, third-party purchase financing, trade-in, or other special transaction structure
An existing Vehicle encumbrance disclosed below does not by itself make this template ineligible, but it must be clarified and cleared before completion. If an excluded case applies, do not use this template; obtain transaction-specific legal advice.
Both parties are adults with legal capacity and act personally—not through a guardian, trustee, or attorney-in-fact
If either party is a minor, lacks legal capacity, or acts through a guardian, trustee, or attorney-in-fact, do not use this template; obtain advice tailored to the transaction and the representative’s authority.
What the guided form covers
The published form is organized into these topics. Some questions appear only when relevant to your answers.
Eligibility & Vehicle
This agreement is only for an ordinary sale between two private natural persons where the seller is the registered owner.
Seller & Buyer
Enter the seller's and buyer's details
Vehicle condition & history
Vehicle condition, roadworthiness test, and known defects
Financial terms
Set the price, payment method, and completion date when final payment, ownership transfer, and handover occur together.
Signing & safeguards
Signing details, followed by optional clauses. The default is a short-form agreement — add only the extended clauses you want.
What to prepare before you start
Collect the seller’s and buyer’s names, identification details and contact information. Check who is acting in the transaction and which details belong to each party.
Keep the vehicle registration document nearby, including the licence plate and identifying vehicle details. Compare the form’s vehicle details with the records available to you.
Record the sale price, any advance payment, the outstanding balance and the payment arrangements. Check that the advance and balance add up to the price.
Gather any inspection report and the information the parties have exchanged about the vehicle’s condition. Write down the planned handover date, keys, accessories and ownership-transfer arrangements.
What to check before signing
Check the vehicle identity, price, payment dates and handover details together. A generated agreement does not verify ownership or vehicle condition. Address discrepancies and any checks you still need before relying on the document or completing the transaction.
This preparation guide helps you organize information. It does not determine whether a template fits your circumstances or replace advice from a qualified Israeli lawyer.
From your details to a document
- Open the guided form and enter the details requested for your agreement.
- Review names, amounts, dates and any choices in your answers. Correct missing or inconsistent information before finalizing.
- When the document is available to your account, download the PDF and review the full text with the other party before signing.
After you download
- The seller and the buyer both sign, and each keeps a signed copy.
- Complete the final payment, the ownership transfer and the handover together, as the agreement describes.
- Register the change of ownership with the Ministry of Transport. Until it is registered, the seller remains the registered owner.
- The buyer arranges compulsory insurance before driving the car.
Official vehicle-transfer information
Read the Ministry of Transport’s instructions for registering a change of vehicle ownership. Preparing an agreement in Huzim does not carry out that registration.
